Draft Proposal: Meteora LP Army Workshop – Northern & North-Central Nigeria Expansion

:rocket: Draft Proposal: Meteora LP Army Workshop – Northern & North-Central Nigeria Expansion

:globe_showing_europe_africa: Introduction

We propose organizing a Meteora LP Army Workshop as a key initiative to grow the Meteora ecosystem by onboarding both absolute newcomers and existing DeFi enthusiasts into liquidity provision.

Our core mission is to guide and empower beginners to become skilled liquidity providers through hands-on practice in the Meteora Playground and structured learning via the LP Army Academy (lparmydotcom) before actively participating in liquidity provision on Meteora.

Beyond education, participants will continue learning and collaborating as part of JUPMET, a community initiative launched in November 2025 to support and expand the Meteora Nigeria community.

The long-term vision is to build a sustainable LP-focused community that actively participates in providing liquidity on Meteora while contributing to DeFi education and adoption across Nigeria.

Our objective is not simply onboarding attendees for a one-day event, but building long-term liquidity providers who remain active within the Meteora ecosystem.

:round_pushpin: Workshop Scope

Proposed Location: Abuja, Nigeria

Workshop Format: Physical educational workshop

Expected Attendance: 40–60 participants

Number of Facilitators: 3

Workshop Duration: Approximately 3–4 hours

Workshop Type: Pilot / Proof-of-Concept Event

The goal of this first workshop is to test onboarding, retention, and LP education strategies while benchmarking onboarding efficiency, LP retention, Academy completion rates, and long-term community participation before scaling into additional regions across Northern and North-Central Nigeria.

:bullseye: Goals

Our workshop aims to:

  • Onboard total newcomers (“normies”) into DeFi through a structured, beginner-friendly learning pathway.
  • Introduce and guide existing DeFi users into the Meteora ecosystem.
  • Direct participants to complete the LP Army Academy courses while tracking their progress.
  • Provide practical, hands-on experience in liquidity provision through the Meteora Playground.
  • Support participants beyond theory through follow-up guidance in our Telegram community, helping them progress from beginners to confident LPs before integrating them into the Meteora Nigeria community.
  • Expand Meteora activity further across Northern and North-Central Nigeria.

Meteora Nigeria has previously hosted workshops in Plateau and Abuja, while JUPMET has hosted a community activation in Benue. Building on these successes, this initiative seeks to push Meteora education and adoption deeper into underserved regions through more structured and community-driven workshops.

We propose hosting another workshop in Abuja, where we believe we would achieve the strongest initial traction for benchmarking before expanding into additional northern states in Nigeria.

:busts_in_silhouette: Audience

The primary audience includes absolute beginners interested in DeFi — individuals who have never interacted with DeFi before.

:red_question_mark: Why focus on beginners?

We believe beginner users are more likely to remain focused on liquidity provision rather than becoming distracted by other DeFi activities. By introducing them directly to LPing in a supportive environment, we can help build a stronger long-term retention pipeline for the Meteora ecosystem.

Participants will be guided step by step to ensure they not only understand the concepts but also gain confidence in actively participating in liquidity provision.

:bar_chart: Metrics & KPIs

We will measure the success of the workshop through the following key performance indicators (KPIs):

  • Number of registered attendees (tracked through Luma).
  • Number of attendees who complete LP Army Academy courses within 30 days after the workshop.
  • Number of participants engaging in practical LP exercises within the Meteora Playground.
  • Number of participants who continue participating in LP-related activities after the event.
  • Follow-up engagement metrics tracked through tools such as Google Forms and Telegram community participation.

Workshop outcomes, onboarding progress, and engagement data will also be documented and shared on X while being submitted to LP Army leads for assessment and future scaling considerations.

:brain: Workshop Agenda

1. Arrival & Registration

  • Attendees check in, receive event materials, and are introduced to the event environment and visuals.

2. Welcome & Overview

  • Introduction by the MC covering workshop goals and the importance of liquidity provision education.

3. Intro to Blockchain & DeFi

  • Facilitator explains blockchain fundamentals, DeFi basics, and why liquidity provision matters in decentralized finance.

4. LP Army Academy Introduction

  • Explanation of how the LP Army Academy works and the importance of graduating from the program.

5. Hands-on Playground Demo

  • Introduction to the Meteora Playground.
  • Participants will immediately begin practicing liquidity provision in a guided simulated environment.

6. Q&A and Next Steps (Competitions)

  • Facilitators answer questions, guide participants on next steps, and explain the long-term learning path within the LP Army ecosystem.

:spiral_calendar: Timeline

  • Pre-event planning and marketing: 2–3 weeks
  • Registration and community onboarding: Ongoing until event day
  • Workshop execution: 1 day
  • Post-event tracking and follow-up: 30 days after the event

:money_bag: Budget

We request grant support to cover:

  • Venue rental, branding and visuals
  • Merch (LP Army branded T-shirts, jotters, and pens)
  • DJ
  • Video and photo coverage/editing
  • Internet costs
  • Refreshments for attendees
  • Follow-up support and tracking tools
  • Giveaways and competition grants

Educational incentives and liquidity starter rewards are important because they allow participants to immediately apply what they learn in real LP environments, improving retention and practical engagement.

Music and atmosphere management are also important for maintaining attendee engagement, improving networking interactions, and creating a more welcoming and engaging environment for participants.

We believe this workshop will serve as a major step toward expanding DeFi education across Northern and North-Central Nigeria while onboarding a new generation of liquidity providers into the Meteora ecosystem.

By combining education, practical experience, and long-term community support, we aim to create confident and active LP participants who can contribute meaningfully to Meteora’s growth.

We look forward to support from the LP Army.

JUPMET becoming a reality will honestly be a dream come true for me. We’ve spent months building, planning, refining ideas, and believing in this vision.

Now it’s time to give it everything we’ve got. We’re not just trying to host an event, we’re trying to build a real gateway for people to enter the Meteora ecosystem through practical learning and community. :rocket:

Solid. :rocket: Beginners + retention = real LP growth. Excited to see the 30-day metrics. Let’s go. :fire:
