Proposal: Growing & Scaling the LP Army

Appreciate the support and feedback. Just to clarify—I’ve been putting in full-time hours growing the LP Army for the past ~5 months, and part-time for about 4 months before that.
The monthly amount I’m proposing is less than what I’d make in a good day DLMMing during a hot market.
This isn’t about profit or being extractive—it’s simply about offsetting the time and effort I’ve been putting in. I think that’s a reasonable ask.

That’s correct—the M3M3 airdrop was worth close to $1,000 per member.
owever, the early support Goose DAO gave to all the M3M3 launches ended up costing us more than it helped. As a result, members took a reputational hit, and I can confidently say that, overall, Goose DAO came out net negative when you account for all M3M3 tokens, including the airdrops.

Just to clarify—mods aren’t from Goose DAO; they simply became members. There’s no conspiracy here. I’m happy to answer any questions you have, but let’s keep this thread focused on the proposal.

As for mod powers in the LP Army server—they’ll have the ability to ban because we’ve had too many scammers lurking around. No one’s going to get banned for being critical or giving feedback.

It sets a precedent.
You have to be prepared that someone else can now come and say that they want the money.
You should be careful not to “throw around” too much money.

I think this proposal can increase people’s involvement in the project (especially in such a bad market as it is now). It may attract new users and new contributors

But it’s important to be careful

Community funding? not from MET DAO but the LP Army? Why won’t Meteora just hire you to continue since you have been so beneficial to them?

LP Army may have many benifits in future
so he is asking from community who can be part and grow

This will be a plus for the community and already you’ve given your dues without asking for anything

10000% , you have my support!

Hi, I suggest to include in the Q rewards the category of tools builder. As LPrs we need tools to avoid negative surprises or to select good material.

does anyone know?, (it’s a sure for for me, mario been legit since very first day)

but i just asked for how we do thing here, just a reply?

shouldn’t be some kind of onchain vote or what :face_in_clouds:

Seems not so much, need x5

This proposal benefits both Meteora and the LP Army, and I support it.

For engagement rewards and community fun, start with small incentives and scale up as organic growth increases.

Yes, give Mario $3 and he will give you back $3000 worth of value.

It totally makes sense, I support it.

Effort, time and energy should be compensated and it sounds reasonable. Engagement rewards, challenges and community fun sounds so bullish, great ways to connect

At the last Community Call, @Miir talked about coming forward to come up with ideas to accelerate the LP Army.

I think the early stages would be the team helping to support and promote experimentation, and then when the DAO is more capitalized it can take over most of these funding responsibilities.

How that looks like, no one knows. Let’s build and experiment our way there.

Agree 100% Mario, I think is a great proposal because it make sure you will be lock in for a long term plus it adds the motivation element to the upcoming members as they will engage more. One thing to correct on your first paragraf is, the coma on the 13,300+ active members, for the LP Army Private - been one of them I just want to make sure is well writen

There’s no formal voting process needed at the current standpoint. The goal with these proposals is for community members to introduce concrete ideas to grow the LP Army, gather feedback and refine their proposals before the team provides the support and funding they need to execute.

Hi Mario,

Thank you for the time and effort you’ve dedicated to helping us. You are one of my role models in DLMM, and what I’m about to say is not against you, but rather a reflection on the future structure of our community.

If we are to become a DAO, decisions will be made through voting, embodying the spirit of democracy. Each member should dedicate time to the project’s development, with roles serving as recognition and potentially leading to a larger airdrop—the cherry on top. The community spirit should not revolve around financial remuneration of members, as this could lead to numerous demands for financial remuneration. Financially involving members could set a dangerous precedent, potentially leading to demands from others. Perhaps the solution is to let the team decide whom to engage based on their needs.

Regarding your request for compensation, I believe it is fair for you to be paid for the time you have invested and continue to invest in the project, especially given your significant past contributions. However, $5,000 per month seems excessive for the value added to the project. A salary of $2,000 or $3,000 would be more appropriate while you work towards achieving the expected results. This is, of course, my subjective opinion, and I could be wrong. Your vision for the LP Army could indeed bring immense value to Meteora. Given your long-term involvement, deep understanding of the team and project, and your status as a profitable liquidity provider, your contributions are valuable. However, for this role, it might be wise to await results before committing to a $5,000 monthly salary.

Currently, I believe the LP Army and your efforts are doing an excellent job without costing Meteora anything. I hope that if the decision is in your favor, it will make us even stronger.

Regarding the annual community fund of $100,000, although I think this approach is relatively good—as the best will reap the benefits and the less fortunate will not—it aligns with the broader principle of merit-based rewards. However, in my opinion, the majority of this money should be used to fund development initiatives and other efforts aimed at improving the Meteora ecosystem. This could be beneficial for everyone, not just the LP Army.

For example, the $5,000 — Competitions & Challenges seems too high.

While it’s nice to have challenges, $5,000 seems excessive. An amount of $1,000 to $2,000 would, in my opinion, be sufficient. Why? Take my example: I am profitable on Meteora, I have a great profit curve, and I rarely lose. Winning a challenge would be nice, but it won’t encourage me to DLMM more, as my goal is to remain profitable. For the non-profitable, the majority won’t attempt the challenge, as it would cost them too much for little chance of winning. Therefore, it won’t add new users.

One could imagine opening the entry to all types of capital, thus allowing non-profitable users to participate at a lower cost. However, wouldn’t they simply try to win the challenge instead of improving in DLMM to become profitable? This is a question I ask myself.

In my opinion, this proposal is a gift for loyal users and good liquidity providers, but a symbolic gift of $1,000 to $2,000 per quarter is sufficient. The value increase for Meteora is too small to give more.

$5,000 — Contributor Incentives

This seems good to me. When I see contributors like Mythical Potato, I think many users in the LP Army Discord would be lost without them. So, I agree.

$2,500 — Engagement Rewards

In my opinion, the other proposals already encourage participation in the Discord. If this reward is for writing messages, it is not necessary. I am not in favor of valuing someone just for writing, but perhaps this is not how you want to reward users.

$2,500 — Merch & Community Fun

Some people might be interested, but let’s recognize that this is not the core business of the LP Army and does not require money. The core business is to bring value to the community through member education, inspiration through great performances, and sharing information about high-potential tokens. Money should not be used for anything other than the essential functions of the LP Army.

$5,000 — Overflow

I get the impression that you are mainly talking about developing tools for DLMM, and I am in favor of this, as it helps everyone.

In summary:

  • I support your compensation, but $5,000 per month seems excessive.
  • I caution against setting a precedent where everyone expects financial compensation.
  • I support the community fund of $100,000, but I question the allocation of the budget across these different areas. I propose reducing some areas or reallocating capital to initiatives that will help grow the Meteora ecosystem.

I repeat, this is just a discussion of your proposal where I give my opinion, Mario. I have nothing against you and you will remain one of my role models in DLMM. But, as I am committed to minimizing unnecessary expenses, this may seem annoying, but in difficult times, this is often what saves us…

Great job Mario. Glad to see the army is looking to reward the people that make it their business to grow the LPfamily

It’s better to start small
