Context
As Meteora prepares for the Token Generation Event (TGE), the community has actively discussed the most fair and sustainable way to allocate the MET token—especially for LPs who are the backbone of the ecosystem.
This proposal combines a two-phase airdrop plan with a tiered distribution model for 2025, ensuring early contributors are rewarded while fostering long-term growth and participation.
Part 1: Dual-Phase Airdrop Execution
Phase 1 – At TGE
Distribute 15% of the total airdrop allocation at TGE to reward early LPs and active participants. This offers instant utility, builds early excitement, and honors those who took risks early.
Phase 2 – Season 2 Points Program
Launch a new points campaign post-TGE to distribute the remaining MET allocation. This encourages continued LP engagement, activity on DLMM, and growth of the LP Army.
Part 2: Tiered Model for 2025 Distribution
Given that a large portion of fees will likely be generated in 2025 with many new users joining, a tiered multiplier model can more fairly distribute rewards.
Proposed Tiered Fee-Based Multiplier:
Fee Volume (WU) |
Multiplier |
0 – 1 WU |
1.0x |
1 – 10 WU |
0.9x |
10 – 100 WU |
0.8x |
>100 WU |
0.7x |
This structure ensures:
- Small & medium LPs are not excluded.
- Large LPs still benefit, especially since many of them were active in 2024.
- Reduces sybil exploitation by punishing low-activity splitting strategies.
Why This Matters
- Linear model for 2024 rewards early commitment.
- Tiered system for 2025 prepares for a larger user base.
- TGE and airdrop happening earlier gives Meteora a strategic edge over competitors like pump.fun.
- The proposal reflects community sentiment: over-prioritizing launches isn’t delivering long-term value. The LP Army is the foundation.

Continuous delays will only erode the community’s confidence. LP Army is the cornerstone of Meteora, and its recent behavior is very bad. If the team is confident in itself, they can let the market decide whether it is good or bad after the TGE, right?

im 100% with the part2 a tired model i think would be good

tiered wont be helpful untill real data comes
as per team and data so far out
to much of multiple wallets
i dont support this proposal

The team did not keep its promises

This tiered model make alot of sense early users who have been here earlier and use the product deserved to be recognise. The team can as well look into jupiverse model as well.
This design is intended to help the project develop more sustainably in the long term.
Regarding the details:
- The first season’s 15% airdrop allocation should be distributed strictly according to the original points progression, covering both 2024 and 2025 activity as initially intended.
- However, for the 2025 portion specifically, a tiered multiplier model should be introduced to better reflect differences in activity levels.
- The actual tier thresholds and multipliers should be carefully determined based on real user data and system metrics, rather than set arbitrarily.
The examples I previously proposed are meant for illustrative purposes only; final configurations should be optimized based on the current dataset and user distribution.

Anyway, I hope real users can get more rewards

The simple metric is how to reward real users, the community and users who use the product regularly, longterm users of all products, It can come inform of volume base or creating liquidity for longterm.

Good proposal, I think the dual-phase airdrop and tiered distribution model is a balanced approach to reward early LPs while promoting sustainable growth. Allocating 15% at TGE incentivizes early adopters, and the Season 2 Points Program fosters ongoing engagement. The 2025 tiered multiplier model 1.0x to 0.7x ensures fairness, rewarding small-to-medium LPs while curbing sybil attacks. This aligns with community sentiment prioritizing the LP Army over launch hype. However, clarifying the total airdrop percentage and monitoring the tiered model’s impact on large LPs could enhance transparency and effectiveness. Though, it’s a strategic plan for Meteora’s ecosystem.
1 wu = 10k USDT. I forgot that ‘wu’ is a Chinese expression.
tiered is very good for community
it should be same for 2024 and 2025 users
looks people didnt farm from multiple accounts in 2024
so no one raising voice against linear
I don’t agree with rewarding early LPers more than those who got into the game late but are consistent LPers
For the record, I didn’t get into the game early or late with Meteora. Hindsight is also 20/20…one could say its riskier LPing now than in 2024
My opinion is that consistent LPers should be rewarded. Someone could have LPed early on in 2024 but could have since stopped.
Someone could have started LPing late 2024/early 2025 but has remained consistent in using Meteora til this day.
One person could have multiple walelts because its safer to spread out your funds across multiple wallets
Not exactly sure what the downside is with a linear drop (with a cap for whales - only say this cuz sanctum didn’t have a cap for whales and the majority of the community was not happy about the drop - tho there was an “earnestness” side to the drop too…) but I’ve always heard a tiered drop benefited sybil-ers
All i know is whatever way meteora decides to do TGE, not 100% of the community will be satisfied either way. I just hope with the experience zen and soju have with JUP CLOUD ZEUS etc, they can dissect the pros and cons of each one and do better with MET!
i think early participants being rewarded makes sense, especially because there’s lower volume on the platform at the beginning, and I wasn’t an early user so no bias. But I don’t think we should reduce high volume users
