Dear Meteora Team and Community,
First off, I’d like to introduce myself and validate that I am a proud customer of Meteora. My project, Smashie was launched on Meteora with a dynamic pool, which is currently the only liquidity pool for Smashie. The size of this LP is approximately $200K, and I’ve greatly appreciated the tools and ecosystem Meteora provides for LP providers like myself.
Over the past couple weeks, as I’ve joined the LP Army and dived deeper into what Meteora has to offer, an idea came to mind that I believe could enhance the platform and attract even more project owners in the meme token space.
Proposal Overview: Dynamic Buy/Sell Fee Control
I propose introducing a feature that would allow developers to control buy and sell fees independently. Here’s why this would be beneficial:
-
Addressing Quick Flippers: As the owner of a meme token, one of the most frustrating aspects is seeing traders buy in for quick profits and immediately sell to move liquidity into another meme project.
-
Incentivizing Long-Term Holding: By having the ability to set higher sell fees at certain times, project owners could reduce selling pressure and encourage holders to stay committed.
Use Case Example
Imagine Smashie reaches a $100 million market cap, with ambitions of growing to $300 million+. At this point, selling pressure is inevitable. If I had the ability to:
- Raise the sell fee significantly during this time, I could:
- Earn higher fees from sellers.
- Use those fees to buy back Smashie tokens, burn tokens, or invest in development and
marketing. - Meanwhile, I could keep the buy fee lower, ensuring new buyers are not discouraged
from entering the project.
This flexibility would allow developers to adapt to market conditions and align fees with their growth strategy.
Why This Matters
This feature could make Meteora even more attractive for:
-
Meme Token Developers: Many meme projects deal with similar issues, and having this kind
of control could draw larger LPs from other DEXs. -
Serious Builders: Developers aiming for long-term growth could better manage liquidity
and project sustainability.
Community Input
This is just an idea that came to mind after a conversation with another community member and doing a deep dive into Meteora’s ecosystem. I’m curious to hear what other members and the Meteora team think of this concept.
Again, I believe implementing this feature quickly could give Meteora a first-mover advantage, attracting larger projects and significantly increasing volume. More volume means greater sustainability, ensuring Meteora remains a leading platform for years to come.
Thank you for your time and for providing a platform that’s already helping projects like mine thrive. I look forward to hearing your thoughts!
Best regards,
